Back to work after a glorious two week break by train and hiking in Germany. I wondered how much I’d have to re-read but it seems I absorbed a lot in my first two weeks and I’m starting to be able to follow all the threads more easily. My colleagues are superbly welcoming and encouraging — and I feel part of the team already.

So what happened this week?

Connie and I planned out the next few months and what I’m taking on from her to free her up to focus on other work (there’s a trello board obv). I love the way she thinks and works — and it’s making it really easy for me to step into things.

Lots more client engagement this week sitting in on discovery interviews and pre calls with board members — in preparation for board sessions later this month.

Taking a deep breath I did my first show and share to the wider PD team including introducing myself and a bit about me to everyone and got some great feedback.

Joined the weekly show and share which was fabulous — love hearing people talk about the work they’re doing and their reflections.

We had our team retro which was great — thoughtful, fun and gave me useful insight into the what next for the team.

I researched a future proposal idea, spending time immersing myself in more of the detail so I can help build the idea. I love that research and ideas space but have to make sure I don’t dive into practicalities too soon (the desire to deliver is strong).

What did I read this week?

This from Mariana Mazzucato:

I may* be a bit of a transport nerd and I found this below a really good description of how to build infrastructure that meets the needs of people outside the male, able bodied norm:

And this from Phoebe Tickell on rewilding our imaginations
